  • Centro Histórico — Restored, walkable by day, quiet after dark. Visit, do not sleep here.
  • Escalón — Leafy, residential, restaurants. Where most visitors stay.
  • Zona Rosa — Hotels, nightlife, embassies. Convenient and a bit sterile.
  • Santa Tecla — Twenty minutes west. Paseo El Carmen, good food, younger crowd.

When to come
