Privacy policy.

What data AH El Salvador collects, why, how long it is kept, and how to have it deleted.

Short version: we collect an email address if you give us one, we keep aggregate analytics, and we do not sell anything about you to anyone.

What we collect

Email addresses, when you subscribe to the newsletter or submit an enquiry form. Used to send you the letter, or to respond to your enquiry, and nothing else.

Enquiry details, when you use the get help, find an agent or get listed forms. Shared with the specific professional or partner you asked to be introduced to, and only with them.

Aggregate analytics — pages viewed, referrer, approximate country, device type. No cross-site tracking, no advertising pixels, no profile built about you.

Server logs, including IP address, retained briefly for security and then discarded.

Cookies

We use no advertising cookies, and nothing we collect is sold or shared for advertising.

We do use a third-party analytics service to count which pages get read. What it does depends on where you are:

  • In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland it is off until you say otherwise. Nothing is stored and no analytics request is sent unless you accept the banner. Declining, or ignoring it, leaves it off.
  • Everywhere else it is on, and the Cookies link at the foot of any page turns it off.

Either way your choice is kept in your browser, and clearing this site’s storage resets it.

When analytics are on, the service sets cookies holding a random identifier for your browser, and records which pages you open and roughly which country you are in. We read totals. We cannot see who you are and do not try to.

Businesses you reach through /go/ links set their own cookies on their own sites, under their own policies. That is how affiliate attribution works, and it happens after you have left this site.

Consent, for the newsletter — withdraw it with the unsubscribe link in any email, which works immediately — and, in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, for analytics, which you withdraw with the Cookies link in the footer. Legitimate interest, for security logs, and for analytics everywhere those countries’ rules do not apply.

Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Enquiry data is kept for two years and then deleted.

Third parties

We use a mailing-list provider to send the newsletter, and the third-party analytics service described above, under the rules described above. We do not sell, rent or trade personal data, and there is no circumstance in which we would.
